Abstract Collage (Inverness)

Led by renowned Sebastopol artist Catherine Cruz, this off-site workshop offers a serene setting right on the water, inspiring your creativity amidst nature's beauty. In this workshop, Catherine will demonstrate her process for creating abstract collage artwork. 

She will discuss materials, composition and abstraction.

Participants will choose papers from a wide collection of hand-painted, colorful, patterned papers as well as vintage books, selecting images and text that speak to them.

Then they will design an abstract collage on a 12”x12” wood panel. Catherine’s goal is to provide a non-judgmental and supportive environment where participants can challenge themselves to respond intuitively to their art and unleash their creativity. 

No previous art experience needed. 

All materials are provided but if you have some favorite collage papers you want to use, feel free to bring them.

Dirigido por la reconocida artista de Sebastopol Catherine Cruz, este taller externo ofrece un entorno sereno justo en el agua, inspirando su creatividad en medio de la belleza de la naturaleza.

En este taller, Catherine demostrará su proceso para crear obras de arte de collage abstracto. 

Ella discutirá materiales, composición y abstracción. Los participantes elegirán papeles de una amplia colección de papeles estampados, coloridos y pintados a mano, así como libros antiguos, seleccionando imágenes y textos que les hablen. Luego diseñarán un collage abstracto sobre un panel de madera de 12”x12”.

El objetivo de Catherine es proporcionar un entorno de apoyo y sin prejuicios donde los participantes puedan desafiarse a sí mismos para responder intuitivamente a su arte y dar rienda suelta a su creatividad. 

No se necesita experiencia artística previa. 

Se proporcionan todos los materiales, pero si tiene algunos papeles de collage favoritos que desea utilizar, no dude en traerlos.
